About Us
Hollows as Homes is dedicated to promoting science and citizen science on tree hollows, with the goal of raising awareness about their significance in the natural world.

Our Story
Hollows as Homes was created as a Citizen Science platform in 2021 by the Botanical Gardens of Sydney, supported by partners that shared a keen interest in preserving trees and the wildlife habitat they provide.

Today, Hollows as Homes continues its Citizen Science heritage while supporting and sharing new scientific discovery regarding the critical ecological role that trees play as habitat for wildlife.
We are scientists, conservationists, and citizens. Our Aims are to grow knowledge and inspire a connection between people, trees, and wildlife so that trees and the value they provide to wildlife and to humans persist long into the future.
